EPA Wins Federal Computer Week's Pioneer Award for High-Impact RightNow Implementation

Agency Recognized for Improving the Constituent Experience with the Creation of Citizen-Centric Web Site and Adept Handling of Growing Email Volume

Bozeman, Mont., June 27, 2006

RightNow(R) Technologies (NASDAQ: RNOW), today announced that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been honored with Federal Computer Week's prestigious Pioneer Award for its high-impact implementation of RightNow's technology. The implementation-which leverages RightNow's unique knowledge foundation, intelligent web self-service capabilities, and rules-based email management functionality-has enabled the agency to improve the citizen experience by creating exceptionally citizen-centric Program Office web sites that answer visitors' questions automatically 80 percent of the time and have reduced email volumes by more than 70 percent.

This reduction in email volume was particularly critical for many EPA Program Offices, since they have experienced significant reductions in their Hotline budgets.

EPA's RightNow implementation also gives the agency deep insight into the issues of greatest concern to citizens, businesses, non-profit organizations, and other government agencies.

"RightNow has had a significant, measurable impact on EPA's ability to deliver critical information to the public," Jeff Tumarkin, service manager for the EPA's Enterprise Customer Service Solution (ECSS), said. "It has enabled us to improve our service to the public at a reduced cost."

Federal Computer Week bestows the Pioneer Award annually to agencies that have demonstrated innovative use of technology to improve specific government applications or programs.

RightNow's solutions are used by more than 125 federal, state and local government agencies around the world to more effectively and efficiently meet the needs of their diverse constituencies.

"RightNow is playing a leading role in helping the public sector make better use of both Internet and traditional communication channels to become more citizen-centric and to improve their operational efficiency," Greg Gianforte, CEO and founder of RightNow, said. "We are very gratified that Federal Computer Week has recognized what the EPA has been able to accomplish using our on demand technology and professional services."
